About SAC Durham
Board of Directors

Some of the Executive Committee on the Board of Directors are the survivor members who orchestrated the transition from a Violence Prevention Coordinating Council Survivor Advocacy sub-committee to an independent non-profit organization.
This "Steering" Committee is comprised of a Chair and two Co-Vice Chairs
The Board will consist of two additional Executive Members (Secretary and Treasurer to be appointed by the Steering Committee) and six appointed Directors/Ambassadors for a total of 11 Board Members.

Each Ambassador represents one of the following six
Sub-committees:

Our complete Mission Statement is:

“SAC will be guided by identified barriers experienced
by women impacted by violence and abuse in order to advocate for positive change and influence the delivery of services throughout Durham Region.”

Our Goals and Objectives still include:

Represent survivors of violence and abuse with integrity, dignity and respect

To work with survivors and respective members to advocate for positive change in the Region with respect to Shelters, Agencies and the delivery of Services

To encourage women survivors, especially, to be actively invested and involved in advocacy to end Violence Against Women.
