Black men and women are a big part of the community. Black women have a higher risk factor for VAW.
Women who are lesbians, gay, bisexual, transgender or queer are at higher risk of racism and violence.
Women disabled physically or mentally are at high risk of abuse and face more challenges trying to escape.
Elders are subject to various forms of abuse by spouses, family members and/or caregivers.
New Canadians are at high risk of abuse complicated by language, religion, culture and other factors.
Men want to end VAW for their families, friends and employees. They can stop "bystanding" and set good role models for boys.
First Nation, Metis, Inuit; all Aboriginal women are at high risk of violence and death, with complex contributing factors.
Memorize these #'s. Do the math. Law reform is desperately needed. "Rape Culture" on campus must end.
Youth in Durham have identified high risk of dating violence/sexual assault and cyberabuse in particular.
